LEADERSHIP TEAM

Kristin’s journey into midwifery began not in a classroom, but in her own experience as a mother. In 2004, while pregnant with the second of her four children, she felt a pull toward something different. After experiencing two hospital births, she began educating herself on the options available for home birth. The subsequent arrival of her next two children—born as peaceful water births under the care of an amazing midwife—changed the trajectory of her life. Experiencing the profound beauty of childbirth in a natural, home setting ignited a calling she could not ignore: to serve families as a midwife.

A dedicated student of her craft since 2004, Kristin has practiced independently as a Traditional Midwife (DEM) since 2013. She earned her Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential through the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) in 2015 and became a Licensed Midwife (LM) with the State of Michigan in 2019. She has been serving her clients under Arts of Love Birth Services throughout this time.

While the dream of opening a birth center in Kalamazoo had been on her heart since 2012, God had a different timeline and a broader plan. From 2020 to 2024, Kristin paused her Michigan plans to relocate to Florida to care for her terminally ill father-in-law. During this season of caregiving, God continued to pull at her heart, refining her vision for making a difference.

Upon returning to Michigan in 2024, the vision became crystal clear. It was no longer just about a building or profitability; it was about a movement. God revealed the model for the Covenant Life Birth & Wellness Foundation—not merely a clinical birth center, but a community-focused, collaborative effort to help individuals and families.

Today, Kristin leads the Foundation with a mission to bring together independent providers of different modalities—from midwifery to functional medicine—under one roof. She is dedicated to creating a space where every family receives compassionate care and informed consent. Since receiving this clarity, Kristin describes her leadership style simply: "God is leading the way, and we are just trying to keep up."
